Amazon has the QNAP TS-464 NAS (8 GB of RAM) for $469 new (which matches last year's Black Friday pricing at some retailers). They also have it used like new for $427 [amazon.com] - 30% at checkout. Makes it $299.38. As of this posting, they have six left.

I've been using this for a couple of years and love it. Use it for a Plex server and automated phone image backups. I also partitioned off some space/a shared folder for work images so if I bounce between my laptop and desktop, I can still access them from either location. It's a slick setup that works well and is easy to maintain for an intermediate level "expert" when it comes to a NAS. At this price, I just bought another one (mine was "Mint"). Order attached with sensitive info blocked out.
