But if you think you'll want more/higher quality ui cameras than what it can support, then you'd have to look at splitting the gateway and access point(s)
Ubiquiti is very much like Apple - they have an ecosystem that plays nice with each other, so you can manage everything from the same place, versus having to manage each part of your network individually. You do pay up front for that convenience though.

Is this better than the cheaper Cloud Gateway Max?
I have a couple of UniFi APs and small switches in my network that I run from a UniFi controller app. No plans to add UniFi cameras. Would I be able to ditch the app if I have this router?

I plan on adding a doorbell and cameras down the line, so I needed the storage and the higher camera support of the max 👍
