For ubiquiti, it's a cheap entry point into a do (nearly) everything starter - supports most of their apps, so you can grow into their ecosystem a little bit before needing to do any significant additional upgrades. Maybe only a managed switch if they have additional runs to plug in.

But if you think you'll want more/higher quality ui cameras than what it can support, then you'd have to look at splitting the gateway and access point(s)

Ubiquiti is very much like Apple - they have an ecosystem that plays nice with each other, so you can manage everything from the same place, versus having to manage each part of your network individually. You do pay up front for that convenience though.

It covers my moms entire 2500 sq ft house, and allows me a dead simple point and click management layer. About to pick another one up for my AirBnB rental.

This is an actual well known brand and highly regarded. Typically small businesses and up but people still buy it for home use . Warranty and support is enterprise level. Unifi is scalable and has an ecosystem all managed on an awesome software platform

Good price, in for one. Hoping this one actually works unlike the one I got last week that just boot loops.

What's so good about this router so people always raving? I just ordered Flint 2 and would like to know if this one is substantially better

It really shines off you want to add poe access points.

Though I'd return the flint 2 if you can and get the flint 3 which is on discount ATM.

In the Flint 2 thread people specifically recommended buying F2 over F3 due to better hardware. I don't need WiFi 7

Been looking at Unifi for a while now. Looks like I'm going to dip my feet into their ecosystem. At this price it's a no brainer.
