Bought 2 of 5qts containers of Castrol Edge 5w40 at Walmart store at $27.48, which is decent price, especially after rebate. Just applied for rebate, could not be more straight forward, fill in personal info, store info and store receipt. Provide Paypal or Venmo account and you are done. No gift card bs, no Visa cards, no checks. Nice to see a company using modern means of disbursement.
And yes, the only possible issue here is 5qt container vs 5 of 1qt containers, but fine print is not specific enough to distinguish what type of container is required, so both have to be equally acceptable. I will update the thread after I receive the rebate.

I use Mobil 1 and Castrol interchangeably on European cars, as long as specs match. In my personal mind, they are equal, especially Edge products.

No guarantee you'll receive your rebate though. I hate rebates but havent seen a decent oil deal in a while so I bit. Even without receiving the rebate the price is what you pay for synthetic. Hopefully we all receive the rebate.

walmarts price 5qt 27.48 x 2 - 30 = 24.96 or 12.48 per 5 quarts. Good deal

Last time Castrol had something similar I followed all the steps and haven't received anything...

It takes 3-5 days to receive a rebate and it is the easiest/best rebate process ever. If you do not receive one return the oil back to the store. It is not Pennzoil rebate 6-7 week wait period. I bought at Walmart when my oil viscosity was around $24 ($27.XX all viscosities now). $9 for 5 quarts. I was going to buy at O'Reilly to get also $15 gift card but unfortunately limit was only 5 quarts (and 1 X$15 gift card). At the end Walmart purchase was the best deal.

It says 3-5 days to validate the rebate and 4-6 weeks for it to be processed.

As a side note, has anyone received confirmation that their submission was validated successfully? Castrol says you should receive an email in 3-5 days confirming whether or not it was validated. Also, I see no way to track the rebate status.
