If you need storage, the no storage model doesn't come with the tray.
The storage tray costs an extra $19 so $179 for 512Gb is pretty good deal.

'If you get into other UniFi accessories…'

UniFi is a deep, expensive hole. I started out with this exact gateway earlier this year and have expanded to multiple switches and miscellaneous hardware. Their ecosystem is amazing for those that want a little more control over their home network without having to play network engineer everyday. It's the Apple of networking. It just works and you get addicted to expansion.

Debating this Max + Switch vs SE. SE just feels long in the tooth at this point.
The UDM line is probably due for an upgrade to XG treatment (10gbs GBE) just like their switches just got the upgrade.

Let's get nerdy here:
I currently have a TP-Link Deco system but want to switch to the Ubiquiti ecosystem, and it looks like they U6 Pro access points are not on sale. Has anyone tried to plug in the TP-Link Decos into the Cloud Gateway Max and put them in access point mode?
Edit:
Nevermind. I probably wont see any real world difference getting the U6+ on sale for $99 over the U6 Pros

Anyone know if Microcenter will price match?
I just asked them as I wanted to go pick one up from them, they don't since it's a Black Friday deal.

No POE, if you intend to get into other Unifi accesories, you will have to spend even more on POE injectors or a switch with POE. You need the Gateway Fiber at min which has 4 POE+ ports
The fiber does have 4 ports, but only one is poe.

I'm looking to get started in the Ubiquiti universe and replace my current wifi router...should I get something like the Dream Router 7 or this gateway and an AP? Covering ~3000 sq ft over 3 floors. Don't have a good way to run ethernet so the ap wouldn't be hardwired.

TIA!

Is this similar to the capabilities of a Firewalla?

Picked up to replace my out of support USG-3P. It has been working great for the last 8 years but more recent versions of the Unifi Controller software have been getting sketchy with it.

I used to have a v1 Cloud Key but switched to hosting it locally on some low powered mini PC's and have been much more pleased. Running with some older Wifi AP's from them as I have not seen the need to upgrade.

They need to come out with cloud gateway fiber with WiFi built in and 5+ Poe+ ports, I would pay 399 for that

I was hoping they'd have something in my shopping cart (with about 7 items now) on BF sale, but nope. Looks like, for the most part, they're just pushing older stuff/inventory, which is what everybody was expecting (similar to previous years). I even see the FlexHD I bought years ago on sale. I love that thing other than the fact it's "just" WiFi-5. lol.

That's what I need.. and it would pair with a $599 24- pro hd (2.5gbe + 4 port gbe) and it would power my 2 AP just fine.

By making the Fiber purposely only 1 poe you're forced to the more expensive $999 24 pro hd poe! Sneaky.

They know how to force you into an upsell

If you have the PayPal BNPL 20%, you can try buying full-priced ubiquiti gear bhphotovideo

You clearly never wired a house. Aint no one wires a house to a room that may or may not be a an office to put this crap on a desk. You wire all the guts of the house into a mechanical or eletrical room and you rack your gear properly and all the wires go into a patch panel. You would never need wifi in a mechanical room, hence all bigger POE offerings dont offer wifi built into the unit to save cost.

For my purposes, I'm just going to pair the UCG Fiber with a Flex 2.5G POE (or 2 ... lol). You want an upsell? I hate that, for some of these things, a power brick is extra. lol.

Anyway, it looks like you can do the PayPal BNPL with Ubiquiti, too, can't you? It's giving me the option for the 4 payments on paypal checkout, anyway.
