A few nights ago Alexa interrupted white noise during my 3yo's bedtime story to run an ad. Gone

I've tried a few different sound machines and I always found the quality of the recordings to be less than stellar at best.

So what I ended up doing was using a small portable/bt speaker with microsd slot that I already owned, downloaded some sleep soundtracks off YouTube and loaded them on the SD card.

A few extra steps for better quality sound, but you might even have a compatible speaker laying around your house too!

This is a great machine. We take it on vacation to use for white noise. It's also nice that it's not connected to WiFi and I don't need to bother with Alexa.

Is it worth it for just a dim clock in the bedroom? Does it auto dim?

I have a sunrise lamp / alarm clock from the same manufacturer. The UI is a bit clunky but it works. I would go for the full lamp if anything.

I use my Alexa, but our WiFi tends to have maintenance in the night and it's so annoying.

It's loud, and it lasts 480 minutes at a time. Very happy with mine.
