Generally... not really. It depends. These are not longterm adjustable dumbbells, as the collars for adjusting the weight are made of plastic. Drop them one too many times and it will break, and since it's plastic, this becomes more of a liability the older they are. This is very much the same issue with Bowflex's old adjustable dumbbells, which is well documented.

Better choices if you're trying to keep costs down, without sacrificing quality/longevity, are either Powerblocks when on sale multiple times a year, or Eisenlink (a copy of Ironmaster's tested-and-proven adjustable dumbbell design.)

Based on? Cost or what is the best brand? Powerblocks are the way to go, but you are going to spend more than $211. If you are just using these to lift to supplement a gym membership these are ok. However, power blocks are the best on the market. I think I paid $600 17 years ago for the U90s and a stand.
