On one hand, Plex is an incredible value if you have a personal digital media collection, especially if you want to share your collection with friends. But between the new UI, removal of features like 'Watch Together', and a decreased focused on personal media, the enshittification seems to have begun.
If you're not sharing your library with other, Jellyfin probably suits your needs for free.

Tried it and switched back. Plex just works, for any media I've ever want to consume with it (DVR for OTA? Also a check), and simple enough app. Jellyfin just required too much fidgeting around with shit But alas I also bought this ages ago when it was sub $100

That's hardly a weakness since it can be solved with a $20-30 Onn box android tv box. If you're not limiting yourself to plex then why limit yourself to apple tv? Walled gardens are bad.
This is the problem with the Jellyfin crowd "I can solve that by doing something nobody is asking for"Apple TV users aren't using shitty $10 Android boxes for reasons, the point still remains in that Jellyfin's AppleTV app sucks, you can clearly see others share that sentiment. Mine was the same and I switched back to Plex because they actually get paid to fix shit and maintain what they have. The open source community just doesn't, very dismissive and would just have your response vs fix their shit

I get that. Jelly has changed quite a bit since I first tried it, Last year I ran it side by side and yes there was a slight learning curve, I prefer it now over plex but since you already have the pass no reason to change until you get sick of the bloat & corporate BS. The only thing I don't like is the music library side.

All I can find is annoying reviews - I just want a video of what it does
Is Plex worth $150? Maybe. Its biggest issue is bloat and clutter these days, but everyone I know seems to like it.

Edit: just opened Jellyfin and it's still showing movies I deleted months ago. Plex doesn't do this.
Doing a manual rescan fixed it but I would think it would just scan automatically.
