It looks like the device you connect it to via Bluetooth would be the receiver but don't quote me on that lol.

If not we both misunderstood the definition of receiver.

Don't quote me on this as I'm not 100% sure - but it looks like you can use just this without the receiver via bluetooth. The catch is that the audio quality is slightly diminished vs using it with the receiver.

Don't read below, unless you want to observe me speculating about this item.
/////////
On deals like this, do you ever wonder how a company comes to acquire a great big pile of used ones? Service issues is always my first guess.
To me it looks like the little (optional for Bluetooth phones?) companion DJI receiver (USB-C adapter, not mentioned in this deal) is no longer available new from DJI or authorized dealers. You can however find/buy a $30 new (and my guess is knockoff) manufactured one, shipped direct from Shenzhen, China through a place like eBay. Obviously there's probably some authentic DJI-made used ones available as well, but I wouldn't recognize the difference or know if it even matters.
The DJI receiver adapter item page says: "Plug and play for mobile recording."
https://store.dji.com/product/dji...e-receiver
So you could bypass the need/trouble to traditionally Bluetooth pair, since the phone would not be performing the Bluetooth functionality. Just the lapel mic (transmitter) and the little companion adapter (receiver) would be doing all the Bluetooth work "behind the scenes" if you will.
I was trying to decode this product for my own potential uses.
I guess these are Bluetooth mics, but I was concerned the Bluetooth communication only operates within a DJI hardware environment. I bought a cheapo mic and receiver dongle that behaves only that way. BTW, the DJI receiver adapter physical format happens to look identical to my no-name setup.
The poster before me thinks the transmitter mic (this thread deal) probably works with phone with no special adapter required, -just using the regular Bluetooth connection. And that maybe the DJI branded adapter just adds some beneficial sonic qualities. That's sounds correct to me. It does make sense to me that the DJI version would be more capable (2 ways to connect to phone) than my super cheapo $10 rig.

A lot of people unfamiliar with the product making guesses.
This product (alone) can be used with your DJI cameras (most of them) with your laptop or phones via wireless. No need for a receiver.
You need a receiver when you want to record to a mirrorless camera or camcorders

When connected to DJI products is via a propertary communication protocol called Osmo Audio but when connected to laptop or smartphone is via Bluetooth.
I have never tried the speaker -mic connection but you can try. Amazon offers hassle free returns until Jan 31 2026.

With DJI OsmoAudio, the transmitter supports direct connection to Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, or Osmo Pocket 3 without a receiver, delivering premium audio.
But when connecting directly to a smartphone via Bluetooth, it doesn't support audio recording when using with phone's native camera; it only supports filming through third-party apps.
