I saw one floor model priced like that a few weeks ago but looked beat up. I passed by because I bought it for $200 and returned it because it sounded like a car with a bad serpentine belt and would squeal in the middle of the night

30 days is the acceptable duration with any retailer. For Costco, 90 days is the acceptable duration. Do you know why they reduced it from lifetime? Because of people like you. Sometimes people would use a laptop for 2-3 years and then return it for free and get the next gen.

It doesn't matter how many trips you took with your bag. Do you think it's acceptable if someone only uses it for 1 trip in say 6 years and then tries to return it? No. If your bag is broken, take it up with the manufacturer or the airline.

Great deal for $99. Have one of these and as long as you clean it with vinegar once a month it will work just fine... And it's Costco so if it dies you just take it back...

By "flip up top" I was referring to the very top. After looking at the pictures more closely, I believe this 1 is like mine and you'll have to remove the entire top.

Costco's policy is solid. I'm surprised they denied your Samsonite bag after using it for only a couple of hours, especially if the wheels fell off so quickly.

When you have an icemaker like this, do you periodically empty the ice into a tray and store it in the freezer? to avoid the melting?

I currently have this one and will be returning. Ice does not come out like the pictures. It comes down as a "mountain/snow" and gets stuck saying it's full

This machine lasted about 8 months for me before it started making horrible noise likely due to mineral deposit buildup.

The ice while it worked was fantastic! The compressor is quite loud out the gate but my kitchen is pretty isolated so it was okay for me.

I did not follow the maintenance schedule as it was quite involved. I only ran the cleaning routine every other week and ran vinegar through every other month.
