This Legion Pro 7i pairs an RTX 5080 with 64 GB of RAM for a high-end gaming laptop that should stay near the top tier for a while. The big draw is strong plugged-in performance, with the 9955HX3D configuration repeatedly framed as the faster CPU choice over Intel, and the 64 GB memory option seen as especially compelling at this price. The main cautions are that laptop 5080 performance is far below desktop expectations, battery life can favor the Intel 275HX on the go, and Antonline returns may carry a steep restock fee. It looks best for a mostly plugged-in setup.

  • Gamers who keep a laptop plugged in at a desk, because the faster CPU option performs better when connected to power.

  • Power users needing 64GB of memory for heavy multitasking, because buying it here is cheaper than adding that much RAM separately.

  • Players wanting near top-end laptop graphics for the next couple years, because the RTX 5080 should stay strong for a while.

  • Traveling gamers who accept medium settings, because laptop graphics are far below desktop-class performance.

  • Gamers expecting desktop-like 4K ultra performance, because laptop graphics can fall far short and may disappoint at the highest settings.

  • Mobile users who need long unplugged runtime, because the faster CPU option drains battery much faster than the alternative.

  • Buyers comparing against a similar AMD configuration, because the AMD model can be a straight CPU upgrade at the same price.

  • Shoppers who may need to return the laptop, because the seller can charge a 30% restock fee.

Great deal. I got the G18 Strix 5080 when it was put probably way too low for open box ($1850). If I didn't score on that, I'd be all over this or the 9955hx3d model

Still not really a stellar deal. 3rd party reseller through Best Buy and only 1TB of storage at $2400. The 5080 graphics cards are currently going on discount for nearly $400 off. Unless this laptop is selling for $2000, this really isn't a deal, just being brought down to a more digestable price versus its value. Appreciate you posting the info on it being on a better deal though than the usual price!

I saw this too on Lenovo.com last night. Definitely a more powerful processor (9955 3D v 275HX) but much worse battery consumption. Though I guess that's kind of a moot point on gaming laptop.
I would be surprised if the battery life were worse on the 9955X3D model because AMD is and has been more power-efficient with their CPU architectures compared to Intel for a couple years now. I recall both the Jarrod's Tech and Just Josh YouTube channels mentioning AMD variants of Lenovo Legion Laptops having better battery life than the Core Ultra ones -but neither have a review for the 9955X3D 7i yet since it's brand new.

Edit, found it.... https://www.ign.com/articles/leno...ack-friday

With 9955X3D...about $2300 with 32GB of RAM or $2430 with 64GB RAM

After codes "LEGIONRMN6" and "EARLYHOLIDEAL"
Does PayPal 20% rebate work?

No, unless someone can tell me how to split it to 1500/ and then another payment method. Super hot if you can do that

Don't forget id.me for 5% (medical teachers military) - so it's a lot of people

Is this available for anyone to buy? For me it's showing as 'unavailable' and now I'm realising that a recent change to Best Buy with an explosion of 'unavailable' laptops are marketplace/3rd party sellers.
Not sure if I have to change something on my end to make them available to buy.

You could use gift cards to reduce the balance to under $1500.

I can only speak for myself, but iwould probably just go for whichever one was faster and more reliable. I don't buy Gaming Laptops for portability, its more a lack of living space until we finish building our home. We are living in one of our apartments until we are done. and its nice to just be able to game at the coffee table, kitchen table, bedroom desk or whatever. My ROG G15 GA503.QR stays plugged in all the time. Other than a few hospital stays, it's always plugged in. Even then it was plugged in at my room once admitted.

Thank you very much. Yes, since i posted it, i have noticed the B&H one. This one is kinda cool because RAM is supposably going to skyrocket. and this has that nice 64gb kit. But as was posted about that X3D modelfor 2455 is a killer deal too.

The "Add gift card or discount code" is right below the "other payment options" section (where you would select PayPal).

Definitely don't see that on mobile (safari iOS) will look on a computer. Price is up to 2700 anyways

Wait - perhaps you were taking about Best Buy and not Lenovo website?

Jarod's tech has tested the chips before.

9955hx3d is faster plugged in but the 275hx is faster when not plugged in.

Battery life on the 275hx is about double the 9955hx3d when running lighter- medium tasks but they didn't test under full load.It makes sense though bc the 275hx is on 3nm vs 9955hx3d on a 4nm process

Also the igpu in the 275hx is a good bit better so if you are just running games on the igpu you can save a lot of battery life.

So for someone who is more mobile the 275hx makes a lot more sense but for the average user who probably always has somewhere to plug in the 9955hx3d will pretty much always be better.
