Look for a ceramic based waffle maker as a healthier alternative.
The person who said you don't have to worry about teflon unless it peels. Wrong. Teflon gives off microscopic particles that don't look like flakes to the naked eye every time you cook with one, the more you use it over time the more unhealthy it will make you. Best to avoid it.

This is correct - Both Teflon and Ceramic are toxic. Any suggestion on carbon steel waffle maker? I googled and tried to find but nothing came up
