I have the P1S with the original AMS. I want to add the AMS2 to this setup. Is the this the correct item I also need to buy? "AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit with AMS Hub". if so, who has this in stock?

If you have an original AMS you already have the AMS hub but probably with only one port. You can print a splitter and put it in line with your hub and skip buying a new hub. You need the six pin cable to connect between the two AMS. You will also need a 24V DC 4A power supply. I bought a 6A supply on amazon for $18 but I think there are cheaper options.

Thanks for your reply. Does the ams 2 pro come with the 6 pin cable? Do you have a link. to the power supply you purchased? I want to make sure that the connector is correct.

FYI, some people dont like this model because the advertised self-drying systems are very limited in use (example, you cant dry while filament is loaded for use, just when its sitting in the slot unloaded). If you are buying it as an upgrade to the standard AMS make sure you understand the limitations.

Yea I got the AMS 2 Pro as a combo with the p1s and was hoping it would allow you dry while filament is loaded but found out after setting it up that was not the case. I wish i had known that before getting the ams2 combo because I would have just went with the regular AMS and saved some money but oh well
My H2D will control it and let it dry while loaded for use. I do have to Un check the roll box so it does not try to roll the filament. This works on my ams ht as well. I have power supplies on both.

This is not completely accurate. You only need the power supply if you're connecting more than a single AMS, or if you plan to dry filament while printing (either from the external spool or another AMS). Otherwise the printer is able to supply enough power for a single AMS 2.

It might also be worth noting that it does not dry every type of filament. I almost sold my old Creality dryer before I realized I couldn't use the new AMS to dry TPU.
