Tariffs should have kept the prices steady, not increased them. These consoles have been out 5 years (8 for the Switch). The MSRP would have normally dropped in that time for any other generation because aging tech costs less. PlayStation is somehow the hero here with only a 10% MSRP increase on a disc PS5. The Xbox is egregiously bad at $650 now for a 1tb series x, 30% increase since launch, but I think they're trying to self-destruct. Nintendo is just being themselves, they didn't budge on the Switch long before tariffs could be blamed.

I guess if consumers keep buying they have no reason not to make it work for less. If

If you do not have a PS4 already I would recommend buying the Disc version as it opens up the majority of PS4 disc via backwards compatibility. If you purchase the Disc Drive sown the road it is $75MSRP so in comparison you save $25 if you buy the Disc version now.

Also I leveraged the PayPal pay in 4 payments (0% loan, may require soft credit check) and they ad 20% cash back so thats about $380s for the Disc version or $290s for the Digital version after you receive the cash back (Can take ip to 90days but ive received within 2weeks previously)

"Pandemic station" had shortages, scalpers and stimulus checks. Insanity griped Americans as they got used to over paying for everything. Companies tested that theory and guess what? We kept buying over priced shit. They have ZERO incentive to lower prices.
