8oz was around $3.57 or so at HD. I know because I was just there yesterday looking for it. ended up with the gorilla which is only 4oz for $3.96 because I dont need that much. seriously, why is this a deal.

You can buy a bag of rubber covers on Amazon for a few bucks. I hear they work well. But I try to squeeze a little caulk out so it's sticking out of the tube (thus acting like a cap)
