Prices for SSDs are high and are rumored to go up next year, just like RAM pricing has. Then again, the AI bubble might burst.
So they will max out what they have and know is sustainable after the bubble bursts, but that's it. Since they all do it, no risk of loosing any market share or orders to other companies due to lead time or pricing, and no other risks either. From a business perspective it's genius, it just sucks as a regular consumer that has no leverage (even as a whole, because the AI industry is so large) and no alternative because they are all making the same choice.
