I'd agree more if it didn't already have 20 cores... if this was a 20 core / 40 thread CPU it wouldn't be selling for $250 on sale like it has several times the last month.
Intel definitely needs to up its game, but the place I'd start is thinking longer term / planning new CPUs differently so that they can keep the same motherboard socket for at least 3 true generations (and I'm not counting a "refresh" as a true generation)
- an amateur PC builder who has only built AMD systems for 15+ years
