I renewed my basic membership for $5 + tax using the above link and then received an upgrade to Club+ membership (reward membership) for an additional $20 for a year, making the total $ 25 + tax for a 1-year reward membership.

Worked fine for me. Clicked link. Signed in to expired account and paid $5 for a new year! Perfect timing as my membership just expired less than a month ago!

Surely they don't sell what the name would lead you to believe, right? ... Asking for a friend.

Something is wrong - I followed link and tried to log in but was not successful. Used same credentials in the app and it worked. Anybody has the same problem? Of course, the offer doesn't show up through app.
Had to use a web browser. The app would not allow the code

Not really. BJs is the low end version of Costco. Stuff costs more than Costco in general and their store brands are inferior (depends on the specific product). BJs generally has slightly more brands represented than Costco though. I have a membership for both and rarely go to BJs.
The two stores have their pluses and minuses for sure. I only go to Costco if I can get there 30 minutes before they close because its so friggin crowded in my store. BJ's has less people. A lot less. Agree mostly on it being lower end, but some of their Wellsley Farms brands are better than Kirkland, like Heavy Cream (no carrageenan or polysorbate 80) just cream and .5% gellan gum vs Costco Land O Lakes brand with both chemicals that don't belong. Those are staples at my house, so I go there. Better egg choices too (Pete & Gerrys), and on par whole milk quality and price. Costco has better meat choices, both have good rotisserie chickens. I have both memberships also and rarely do Costco except for their filet mignon, avocado oil mayo, EVOO, precooked bacon and cashews. There are a few crossover products in my rotation like Canadian bacon, kielbasa and beer. Costco has beter wine, and both have a liquor store. l ike the BJ's reward card better because Capitol One pays them monthly instead of annually like Citi. Costco has top tier gas, BJ's does not. Bj's take coupons, both their own and mfgr, Costco does not but their sales don't require a coupon. I treat them both as grocery stores because all the other stuff like electronics is usually available somewhere else at a better price or reasonable quantity. I bought my Casper mattress at Costco and saved almost $300 , and my car batteries and several sets of tires over the years, which come with free road hazard, mounting balancing and rotations at good prices so exceptions do happen.

Can't seem to find expiration date when renewed. My luck will be 1 week and auto renewal @ $60
