Got this same laptop at $1377.99. One SSD slot is Gen 5 and it does do 96gb of DDR5 ram. Runs a bit hot on the CPU even with a iets gt600 cooler but I knew that might be the case due to Asus's poor liquid metal application. Planning on a repaste soon. Still a beast of a laptop at a good price.

This has the real processor though, 16 cores, 32 threads. This is the one you wanna buy. It's a good price. It's the 8940 H. I have the 8945HX. And this has the lower graphics card. I got the 5070 but Mines. 240 hertz.

G18 strix owner here. It also has liquid metal. I've never gone beyond 75 degrees celcius under load (battlefield 6 really pushes the cpu). Not sure if that means it had a poor application
