This is a good deal. It beats my current strategy of buying from REI with 20% off then another 20% from the PayPal Pay in Four promotion.

I also bought because appears better than other recent deals on it. Will be teen boy's 1st 'adult' multitool and while pricy in general, a good thing to have as a serious Scout (camping, backwoods, hiking) and also USA made/warranty. Appreciate the post!

Leatherman has made it clear with the most recent additions to their product lineup that they are mostly interested in chasing the collectors market.

Shrinkflation. Leatherman has decided to no longer include a sheath and instead grant you the privilege of buying one as an add-on for $20. 🤷

Sadly, from # 1 in MT market, going for the collector's market, like they are selling some novelty memorabilia is indicative of end pf product life stage. maybe it is warranted purchase, given that most likely they won't exist in 10 years. That explains the "lifetime warranty" too.

I was blown away by the pricing of this multi-tool. I remember 20 years ago that they would be about 30 or $40 which seemed like a lot of money but semi worth it. What the hell has happened? Who would buy this? I remember back then, SOG sold a much superior multi-tool for around the same money. The pliers had a compound power device in it where it really was much more powerful and overall better quality.

Bought my Leatherman Skeletool CX Multitool back in 2015 for $50. It still looks and functions like new. It was replaced as my EDC by my Leek CF then by my Spyderco.

Honestly, more that I would have thought. Mostly I use ferro for lighting my MSR Windburner since it's safer to throw sparks into it from a safe distance.
