I signed up with the link and can confirm it doesn't work on any device that isn't a fire tv device. Tried using it on my phone, browser, and LG tv and it doesn't work on any of them. Tried logging in directly through HBO and using prime as a service provider and got an error saying HBO can't verify my subscription.

Amazon and Roku have advertised that they will offer 12 months of HBO Max for $2.99 a month starting tomorrow. (The regular price is $10.99 a month.) A Hulu/Disney Plus bundle of $4.99 a month is also expected to be added on Monday. Paramount Plus will be reduced to $2.99 a month for two months starting on Tuesday.

I will never understand paying for ads. The whole point of streaming was that they got rid of them.

Worked on my end, clicked link, logged in, went back and clicked linked again and it showed up automatically, the offer of 2.99 a month for the first 12 months.

It shows I am eligible for the deal, but I never use my Firestick. Will I still be able to use the service on my regular devices?

I ordered it through amazon link. How do I set up the account. I choose the "edit info later" option.

We have been slowly beaten into submission as consumers to the point where paying for the privilege to watch ads is now a hot front page deal

this isn't the dystopia I wanted!

You may have been beaten into submission, but not me.

Ads are free choice, and everybody can do what they want. If somebody really doesn't want ads, then they can obviously choose the ads free sub and pay for that option. And if somebody is ok with ads and they want to pay less, then they can choose the ads sub. Or somebody can choose to not sub at all.

Sounds like freedom of choice to me.

Logged in my old HBO Max app last week and didn't see a $2.99 /month offer. Just logged in the app again and see the $2.99 offer. Didn't have to sign thu Amazon.

I hate ads, but I can live with them when I'm watching all the way through a new show or movie. With HBO, most of my usage is rewatching shows that I like, like game of Thrones or The newsroom or Big bang theory. And that usually means I'm fast forwarding or rewinding through certain things, which makes those ads a lot more intolerable.

HBO used to be a $20+ add on to cable.

Are there any good deals without all the ads? There's plenty of free stuff out there to watch ads with. I hate paying to watch ads.

The cheaper the plan gets the longer the commercials are.

There are other ways to get HBO Max (with ads) for $2.99 but for Amazon Prime Video fans, they are offering the deal through Prime Video. If this link doesn't work for you, just open your Prime Video app and click on "subscriptions" in the upper right. There are a few other Black Friday deals there, but the other subscription deals are only 2 months. You should be able to apply Amazon Prime no rush credits to this deal.

Saw this on my FireTV, and signed up via Amazon.

You can also sign up for the same offer via the HBO Max App, if you want to.
