If you already have an xbox, and you've had one for the last 3 years, this is overblown a bit. It's the next generation where things seem far less certain.
This Target Xbox gift card deal is mainly attractive as a digital way to save on Xbox purchases, Game Pass, or even an Xbox console. The discount lands around 15 percent, and stacking with a RedCard, Target card, or Cash App can push it closer to 20 percent or about $80.75 on a $100 card. Email delivery has been fast for some orders, though there are reports of delayed or missing codes, so it helps to wait a few minutes before redeeming. The cards can be used on Microsoft purchases, making it a flexible way to trim gaming costs.
People planning to stack offers at checkout (e.g., PayPal Pay in 4 or Cash App) because commenters reported PayPal Pay in 4 at checkout and said it should make the purchase eligible for 20% cashback, plus others said you can use Cash App to save 20% and even stack with the Cash App offer.
Parents buying an Xbox game or subscription for Christmas because commenters said the timing is "perfect" for picking up an Xbox item for their son and that the gift cards can be used toward Game Pass/subscriptions to save versus paying full price.
People who already use a Target RedCard because the deal "becomes 20% off" with RedCard and one commenter said it drops a $100 Xbox gift card to about $80.75 with an extra 5% off.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers who want to lower their ongoing subscription cost because commenters said it's an "easy way to save on a subscription" by using the gift card balance (or the payment method on file) until the gift card runs out.
Buyers who prefer online delivery instead of hunting in-store because commenters said Target lets you order online with email delivery/fast delivery and avoids issues like having to drive to a store, gas/EV costs, or dealing with stock/cash-only requirements.
People who need guaranteed instant email delivery because some commenters raised reliability concerns from Target 1-star reviews (codes not received or delayed) and asked whether others got their email codes quickly.
Buyers who plan to redeem a large number of codes at once because one commenter warned that redeeming many at the same time can trigger an account security lock for about 24 hours (and suggested spacing out redemption).
People who want to buy these cards in person at a specific retailer location because commenters said certain in-store card types (Vudu/Fandango at Home) often never appeared even when they arrived early, making trips not worth it unless they live right next to the store.
Shoppers who are trying to use an Xbox gift card for something outside Xbox/Microsoft account purchases because one commenter specifically asked whether an Xbox gift card can be used at the Microsoft Store for a laptop, implying it may not be straightforward for that use case.
The deal works out to about 15% off at base, and about 20% off with a RedCard. A $100 Xbox gift card drops to $80.75 with an extra 5% Target card discount.
The codes can arrive by email within about 10 minutes, and each code is sent individually. Waiting a few minutes before redeeming helps avoid a temporary "not yet activated" error.
The purchase limit is 6 per order, so larger buys require multiple orders. The Xbox account balance tops out at $1,000, and redeeming many codes at once can trigger a 24-hour security lock.
20% off at Dollar General this weekend if you have one local. Wells Fargo cards have an additional 10% off deal for $5 max.
Dollar General is cash only and the worst part is you have to go into an actual Dollar General store. With this deal I ordered online with email delivery and used my Red Card.
With target its online + fast delivery and you don't have to drive to a store which may cost gas/EV for some, you can save 19.25% with red card, you may have a target circle bonus in your target wallet if you spend x amount in one or more transactions which does include digital gaming cards in most cases so you could save additional money, and you don't have to worry about some DG stores being out of stock with cards or requiring cash or debit only or placing limits. You can also buy online today instead of waiting until 11/27.

Not sure why someone downvoted you, this was my thinking as well. The last two years that I've tried to go in store for Vudu/Fandango at Home cards during this timeframe, they have never had them. And even worse, those other ones on sale that are advertised in pics would never appear. I would get there within the first hour of them opening too. Absolutely not worth the trip unless you live right next to one.
I was able to choose PayPal pay in 4 at checkout, which should also make it eligible for 20% cashback.
Yeah, I feel like that's the play here as long as people haven't maxed out that offer. A 3-month code ends up being $13.60/mo before tax (no sales tax where I live), then you can probably chip that down a bit more with credit card bonuses or cash back sites.
Sad that I'm a little excited about a <$15/mo Game Pass Ultimate deal, but here we are.

I was just there this weekend and paid for a different GC with credit. Not sure where this cash only is coming from.

Looking for confirmation that at least someone here got their xbox giftcard via email. Several 1-star reviews on target state they either didn't get the gc at all with seemingly no recourse/support or at least waited hours. I bought a game pass core gc from newegg the other day when it was on sale and got the code within a minute. Newegg's current bf deal for a $100 xbox gc is a few dollars shy of this deal but concerned this one isn't reliable. Anyone get theirs? Bueller?

I bought 12. Transaction is limited to 6 per order, so I just did 2 orders. Each order resulted in the gift card codes being sent via email within 10 minutes. The codes are sent individually. I already redeemed them and spent them on hardware.Very important points:
1.) Wait a few minutes after you receive the codes. I twice had the issue of redeeming them immediately only for the Xbox site to tell me the codes hadn't yet been activated by the retailer. The code value eventually hit my account anyway though.
2.) Your Xbox account tops out at $1.000.
3.) If you redeem codes all at one time, your account will likely be locked for 24 hours as a security feature. I think if it's you do 8 or more at once.
