How is performance on non-native programs? I heard that a lot of things didn't work at launch

as far as I know it uses an emulator for non native apps. and it's really bad at it.

It's fine. If you're not gaming you won't notice. Literally everything I've tried worked, including niche tools for informatics analysis.

But the 13.8" new is going got $650 @ microcenter.

Love how people leave comments when they have no clue or firsthand experience with something. We have deployed many of these ARM computers at work, and I use two of them at home. I have yet to find something that does not have native ARM support lately. When it does run in emulation, you may not even notice it. But it's best to have software that is native ARM supported, and so many have now released their software to run native on ARM. The performance is great, and the battery life is just amazing! I have the 13" Surface ARM laptop and bought one for my daughter who loves hers.

I did. Be here tomorrow. But that doesn't mean my comment is wrong. We have comments like... As long as you don't game, and you may notice it. While at the same time saying to ignore comments from those that haven't used. Lol.

What are the chances of any deals on the 32GB ram of the same model? I see it's about 1350 right now

The one at Microcenter for $650 is only the Plus CPU with 512GB SSD.
