I have this and it works pretty well if you can get past the horrible knob interface. I have to air out the humid air once in a while but other than that I have used it at the same time printing using the filament outlet connected to P1S. Make sure you lower the temperature about a couple degrees lower from the normal if you're drying and printing at the same time to avoid filament becoming soft inside the PTFE tube. The enclosure is not totally air tight but mine kept it under 30% for weeks (65% outside) with a couple of desiccant bags thrown in before I had to dry again.

Similar experience. I added a PTFE tube from the back up to my extruder. I live in the humid part of the country and brand new filament will snap just sitting there unused on the printer.

I ordered this 2 weeks ago, also ordered PTFE tube from AliExpress but hasn't arrived yet. Feeding without the tube causes the spool inside to cock at 45 deg inside the dryer (at least with the angle my filament is being fed from). Hope the PTFE tube will solve the issue, TBH it should. IMO the dryer should just come with 18" of filament and a connector just because I think a majority of people would need it.

Drying function works well.

Why would someone buy this instead of a food dehydrator? (Not trying to be snarky, honest question from someone new to 3D printing).

I've got one of these, it works, though I will echo the sentiment of primesoup - the knob controls are so bad. So, so, so bad. I've had it for 2 years, and I still can't reliably get it to turn on the first time I try.

Mine also never shows any humidity number other than 20%, but I might just have a one-off bad unit.
