PSA: If you don't need the Hulu and happen to live near a Krogers, you can get Kroger Boost membership (free same day delivery) + Disney included for $50 for 1 year (Black Friday, half off membership price). That's like $4 a month. I already get Hulu for $1.99 with student discount, so I went the Kroger route instead

TY for sharing. Will still do this but it's a tougher call at $5. Hulu is worth $0 to me and Disney Plus is iffy, at best.

Not sure if this was answered already but if I cancel my subscription today, and it expires Dec 5th. Could I resign up right away for the discounted version?

I contacted customer support to check if I was eligible for the special offer, despite already being a subscriber. My subscription expires in three days. However, the representative was unable to provide me with the offer. She repeatedly asked where I found the offer and whether I had received it via email. I explained that I did not. I ended up signing for the offer using a different email address.

How bad are the ads? Kid loved Disney+ but the cost is unmanageable. This is more realistic... Are they every 5 second?
Not nearly as bad as cable and network TV,

Most people say the Hulu Ads are TERRIBLE, but what about on Disney? Same? I've only ever had AD FREE Disney before...
Then your 'most people' never had cable or TV through just an antenna because the ad segments are way longer on those than Hulu.

I can't do ads for a movie. Before the movie is fine but breaking up movies for ads is just horrible at this point. It seems to me that smart people or ai could figure this out.

I will never go back to Disney. They swapped prices when I was still under contract for 2.99. So watch your bills. They are shady.
Been doing these deals for years and they've never done that not even once.

Can someone pls describe what happens (ideally) when using AdGuard DNS to block Disney+ ads? Does the show continue seamlessly, with a brief blip, or are you staring at a blank screen for a minute or two to wait for the commercial block to end? Would this block only work for PCs or could your TV be included? And is there a step-by-step guide? TIA.
Curious too. I'm assuming it might break other things.

edit: from what I'm reading Ad block only works for desktop/mobile unless you have a custom pihole.

I guess you never had to watch TV through an antenna or cable because channels like TNT, TBS, TCM, etc. have always had ads in movies. They are annoying but I grew up with ads so they don't really bother me.

I get it, i feel the same with something like Starz which is going for even less than this. I've warmed up to Hulu over the year, easy to do at $1-2/month. I don't have young kids so being forced into Disney is my issue but again at $5/month it's pretty much a no brainer, there is enough even in Disney to make it worth it.

Of course, pay the $19 monthly fee for the premium ad free plan.

No matter the price, I can't wrap my head around how we have been conditioned to PAY FOR ADS.
Love all the smart remarks, "Guess you never heard of Cable TV?"
Of course, what they don't tell you is, we also had Tivo/DVR's so get out of here with that "we always paid for commercials, BS."

I have a subscription that is already cancelled managed through Hulu that ends tomorrow. What is my best route here because I don't seem to be able to subscribe tp this right now. Is the best bet just to start an entirely new Disney+ account to use this deal, or will I be able to use this once the Hulu based one is actually dead?
I've switched between two different email addresses for many years, always swapping to get the promo. You'll have to also change up your payment method too. My current subscription ends tomorrow. I will sign up for this current promo with the other email on the 27th to maximize my year.
