I own 15 EcoFlow power stations with most being the River 3 Plus. I use them in place of a UPS for my electronics. A huge flaw in these devices is that they need to remain connected to Wi-Fi and internet while their firmware is upgrading but they turn off their AC power output before running the firmware update process. I had to add a regular UPS in between the River 3 Plus that is powering my networking equipment to keep it powered during firmware updates otherwise it would turn off AC power output, turn off networking equipment, and the firmware update process will fail and not complete because there's no Wi-Fi and internet. IMHO, it's a terrible flaw. Separately, some River 3 Plus devices have a defect...it turns off its AC output power after 24-48hrs. Ecoflow pushed new firmware that says it included fixes for the problem but it didn't work. The only remedy is to return the River 3 Plus and/or exchange for a new replacement. Becareful with refurbished River 3 Plus because if they're reselling these units, there is no fix. You might be working with tech support for weeks, installing different firmware, answering questions about when it turned off, how much current was being used, is solar charging connected and/or being used, etc... At the end of the day, no solar, 70w-100w continuous draw, X-boost disabled, timeout settings set to "never", and problem units still turn off their AC output ever 24-48hrs with nothing recorded in the fault log... Hopefully my reporting would have help save you some time. If you get a problem unit, just return and exchange. It's not your settings and or use.... it's simply a defective unit. A quick search for "River 3 Plus turns off AC output" will find that many others have also encountered this problem with River 3 Plus

Many people including myself have been eyeing these battery power supplies to replace our UPS. I have been actually using and testing these as UPS to see how they perform. First they dont adjust the voltage, so if you have dirty power, stick with a UPS. Second, UPS with SLA batteries are good for high current, short times to quickly shut down power in a defined manner. These LiFePO4 batteries are the opposite and are better to run low current devices a long time. Third, many of these have noisy fans even in UPS mode and they dont turn off. This is problematic with the ecoflow units. I have the river 2 Pro and the delta 3 1000 air, which is sold as UPS capable. They compare the noise with a refirgerator but dont tell you that unlike a refrigerator that cycles, the fan runs continuous. That means in a bedroom, you will always hear it. Fourth, the autopower off has 2 issues. One is what a poster said, it turns off even if you dont want it to. My unit never turns off, even if no power is used. Fifth, the UPS mode differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. Ecoflow's bypass the battery in UPS mode but in this mode, the battery drains at about 12W because that 12W runs the circuitry, Ecoflow you can set the max charge at 85% to preserve battery life. Others like Jackery you can only set it at 100% in UPS mode. There are few real descriptions of UPS mode and they differ quite a bit.so you dont know what you are getting until you use it. Bottom line is that these battery supplies are in the beta phase of UPS capability.

Many people including myself have been looking into these as replacement UPS. A bit of a warning. Mots of these do not have AVR function. Nor do they have a USB port to turn off power to your computer. They are mainly for backup power. Also, you dont want to have the battery at 100% in UPS mode or the life will shorten. Set it at 85%. Finally, these are best for situations where you have low power needs but you want to run a long time when power is off.
good advice for ecopower units, but not all. On Jackery, if you set it at 85%, it will no longer run in UPS mode, but take power from the battery and then the line power recharges the battery. So this reduces the lifetime of the inverter and battery since both are used continuosly,
