I use them to direct log into all sorts of mechanical equipment that has an Ethernet connection. It's pretty common in building automation and controls. This way I don't need to tether my laptop with an Ethernet cable.

Not sure if stock firmware is capable. Using custom fw like Asuswrt-Merlin allows it. However this model is not compatible. The ASUS RT-BE58 Go is.
