I'm hesitant due to 1440p. Ever since I started playing at 4K (but at 60Hz), any resolution lower just looks blurry.

You definitely don't need this if you're nitpicking blurriness due to the resolution. Aim for a 4k 240hz instead if not a 120hz.

that's what I want to check out, an MSI or Asus 27-inch QD-0LED 4k gaming monitor

Yep, that is the way for you. There's a few deals that popped up recently but overall I think you'll be a lot more satisfied with that setup! Pushing 240fps at 4k is tough though so if you computer isn't spec'd to handle that I would aim for a 120/144hz model instead and save a few bucks.
