I believe that's what I paid for the same unit last year.

Is there any value in having a second one of these in the same home?

No. Unless you reach the device limit or have issue with connectivity due to interference or location of devices

I think I've had Homebase 3 for a year and I don't know that it was all that useful over putting SD cards in each camera. I guess if you are worried about theft of SD Card that might be the big use case.

Exactly this. Not a fan of the idea of using SD cards for outdoor cameras for that reason.

Do you know the answer to this? My indoor eufy camera connect pretty fast and for the most part can connect without much issues.
My outside cameras and doorbell are really bothering me. It takes a solid 10 seconds of loading and it would finally load and sometimes it would fail to load the camera. I have the home base 3 tucked upstairs but if I add another home base 3 downstairs and closer to the front door, would this help with the connection issue?

Call cameras are wireless.

I am wondering the same. Use this as a second HB3 'extender' to the original HB3.....for either stronger connectivity to some devices further away....or perhaps even for audible notification in a different floor/area? You would have to tie specific devices to each HB3 in the same 'home', then setup rules to action on each (Leave, Stay, etc)?

My doorbell doesn't have an SD card slot and stopped ringing my inside chime. This might be good for me.

Just bought a S220 and hooked it up under the front door porch. So far so good but night vision could be better. Also the solar panel doesn't get much sun being where it is. (I could have a wired camera there--there's a light socket that I could tap into.) Not sure if I should commit to the eufy ecosystem or go with Tapo. Any suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

This is the lowest price and a must have if you're into Eufy ecosystem. Caveat
1 it only support one drive so, if it fails, your recording are lost(no raid support)
2 No automation on exporting events. I have a usb plugged in but I have to manually export events if I need to. There's no way to schedule events automatically to a usb drive.
3 No SMB support. Same as before wish we can save/duplicate recording for peace of mind
mind
4 Either save on HB3 or Camera's sd card. No support for dual save again to prevent data loss.

Besides these, it's a great system which allows me to view/stream my camera locally even when no internet is available. I also streamed upto 46 minutes without any disconnect means it could allow you to use as a baby monitor.

Pretty good price. Did they ever resolve the security issue with Eufy?

I initially installed a Patriot SSD, but it stopped working after 4 months. Now I have a WD SSD Red for NAS and it's going strong.
