How would this be for basic office computer use (no gaming)?

I have something like this (G5) similar size and 4K - at a normal sized desk I feel like I'm constantly just a little too close to the monitor. It's really nice to have a large workspace though!

I can't imagine spending money on a Samsung product ever again. They really have killed their own brand with the QA issues in... literally every product they sell.

Literally everything they sell. I haven't seen a single product work correctly.

I have this monitor for about over 1 year, and it's great for general office since you have so much monitor space. I highly recommend it. I may get a 2nd one depending what kind of deal Samsung.com has.

It does seem like the difference between this and a TV is the stand, I assume the TV version of this comes with those garbage "feet", and connectivity, I'd guess the TV has the F-type connector, 3 HDMI and maybe one USB A, where as this has 2 HDMI, 3 USB A and 1 USB C.

Not every 4K 43" TV can do chroma 4:4:4. That's the point.

Yeah, probably. But good luck getting a TV to turn on and off automotatically with your computer (forget what that function is called). Honestly, that's the sole reason I would pay more for a dedicated monitor.

I have an older version, the M70D. It was 279 (Amz) on sale when I bought it last year. It's more like a TV than a monitor, it doesn't have displayport. BUT using HDMI 2.1 @ 4k/60 it's fine. It also has USB-C input. I don't use any of the silly "smart" features, they're just apps. It does go to sleep if I put my PC to sleep. I got spoiled by my old 40" 4K monitor and now can't go smaller easily. I also have a 32" 4K Acer monitor and the Samsung is worlds better in color and picture quality.

60hz isn't a big deal for me, I am not a competitive FPS gamer. That being said, you need a monster GPU to get over 4k/60 anyway. I have a RTX 4070 and will play 4k/60 in most games, some games (looking at you, stupid Indiana Jones game) and I have to go down to 1440p to keep steady 60.

So this is mainly for work/media stuff, hard core gamers or OLED die hards will skip.

That looks like a decent clearance deal if you can find one. Not available anywhere near me. If that had been an option when I bought mine last year, I would have given it a shot.

How is this a deal at 60Hz? You can buy a 55" tv with better specs and a better price at this point.
