Beyond this, If you do not need one, I would recommend searching for an external mount filter for your fridge. I have an RO system but it is mounted in an island without a way to supply the water to my fridge. For my fridge I buy a 2 year filter ( I still change it once per year) that mounts on the wall behind the fridge. It works way better than the internal filters do and lasts significantly longer. If you go this route, you need to remove the filter inside the fridge. You should just be able to remove it. Water will still go to your dispenser without it installed.
