This is similar to another deal at Walmart on an Acer Nitro V with very similar specs, main diff I see is it has Ryzen 5 240 processor and price is $629. That other one is a front page deal...why is this one not a deal? Is the Ryzen processor that much better?

I'm also curious about this if someone knowledgeable could chime in.

So last year the 13th Gen i5/i7 were identified to have issues with power deliver that can permanently cripple the processors. While this was identified to be mostly in desktop chips - it was a huge blow to the reputation of these chips. Since then - the Ryzen has been the more desirable option.

The Ryzen processor uses less power than this Intel one, which allows that model to suffer less from the design flaw that both have: they both drain battery while gaming and plugged into the wall.

The Intel based one has noticeably worse battery drain while plugged in and gaming -though both the AMD based one and Intel based ones have the same problem. The power brick it ships with is underpowered for the power requirements of the laptop.
