"Limited edition" AKA cheapened out for Black Friday so you think you're getting a deal.

How would this compare to a tv from 4 years ago? I have a Toshiba fire tv from Best Buy from 4 years ago. Wanting to replace with something a little better but plus hedging my bets with my tv failing, selling it and getting this.
Hard to say. I've generally gone mid-range in terms of price for TVs and I've never had a TV "break" on me. Even my 32" Toshiba flatscreen from 2008 still works (gave it to my mom in 2019).

The consensus is, spend more, get better picture quality and get a better user experience (faster processor, since dumb TVs seem non-existent--Though I personally use my Google TV instead of smart TV features, so moot point if you also do this). I'm not 100% if cheaper TV shit the bed sooner or not, since I haven't bought one.

If you're looking to replace a smaller cheapo TV with a bigger cheapo TV, then its probably not the worst choice to make. It is tempting to grab a cheap TV with how much a top of the line TV of the same size costs.

Does CEC work to wake up this TV when you turn on an HDMI device? (The last Black Friday "special edition" TV I bought a few years ago had CEC totally disabled.)

How are the VIZIO menus for old people? The old man is so bad at tech. Is roku a better choice?

My order was cancelled a couple hours ago (65"). Walmart offering a whopping $5 off my next order for the inconvenience. Sucks this was a Xmas gift....Now gotta find an alternative that's not crazy expensive.
Edit: Went with the new "Hiro" brand at Target. Same size and price plus Roku (which I think my parents will find easier to use). I had a target circle offer for $15 off $80+ that expires at the end of today so I guess that worked out as long as the TV holds up. Almost pulled the trigger on the 70" pioneer at Best Buy for $299 but realized during checkout it was not free delivery/shipping to my area.

Still super happy with this TV.

Over 8000 ratings and 2400 reviews on walmart.com now. 4.2 stars average.

Biggest complaint recently seems to be the built-in software: updates, app installation, etc.

I said this in a previous message, but it bears repeating: Don't use the built-in software! I didn't even connect the TV to wi-fi. I don't need Vizio's homegrown (likely glitchy) software.

I have a Roku connected to one HDMI port and sometimes connect a laptop to a second HDMI port. Couldn't be happier.

The built-in software is only useful for tweaking picture and sound settings. Don't connect to wi-fi, don't install apps. Just don't.
