If anyone didn't know this. After you activate your phone, you can add this plan and it count as a month. It also worked on plans that said you needed 2 months of silver, etc.

This Straight Talk iPhone 13 deal stands out as a low-cost way to get an older but still capable iPhone with a SIM card slot, strong cameras, MagSafe, and solid battery life. The A15 chip keeps it close to the iPhone 14 and not far behind the iPhone 15 for everyday use, and the size and 0.5x lens make it appealing for travel or filming. The main drawback is age, since iOS support is shorter and newer updates can slow it down or drain battery. Unlocking also takes patience, with reports of 60 day service requirements and occasional rebranding or activation hassles.

Buyers wanting a temporary phone that can be unlocked later, because Straight Talk service can unlock it after about 60 days.
powapple crushdtinbox cool-blue Kapidex
People who still need a physical SIM slot, because this model is the last U.S. iPhone with one and makes carrier swaps easier.
SkillfulTexture8073 nevershoutchris Frank_Nitty
Parents buying a simple hand-me-down phone for kids, because it has the same processor as the iPhone 14 and is described as a great kids' phone.
mainomega davenian Luigis3rdcousin
Creators filming on a budget, because the extra camera lens includes a 0.5x option that helps with vlogging.
GreenBuffalo583

Shoppers who want a guaranteed instant unlock, because iPhone unlocks can take extra days, need support tickets, or fail to update right away.
BGRT fx1 BGRT civicsi98
People who want long software support, because this phone is already considered old and may only have a few years of updates left.
goyangyi1 Spaceman6969
Heavy multitaskers who keep the newest iOS features enabled, because the latest software can slow this phone down and hurt battery life.

Common Questions (5)

Yes, many reports say it can be rebranded to TracFone through chat or support, then activated on a low-cost TracFone prepaid plan to reach unlock eligibility. Some reps refuse at first, so trying another rep or using online chat can matter.
Huffcw quantecipher quantecipher powapple
It still has features some newer budget iPhones lack, including a physical SIM tray, MagSafe, and a 4GB RAM iPhone 13 platform that many consider close to iPhone 14/15 performance. The tradeoff is older hardware and shorter remaining iOS support than newer models like the 16e.
Spaceman6969 Luigis3rdcousin SkillfulTexture8073 tjmxxx
Yes, it is intended to unlock after 60 days of paid service, and several reports say it unlocks automatically on day 60 with no request required. If the phone still shows SIM locked, inserting a different carrier SIM can trigger the status update.
powapple powapple crushdtinbox cool-blue
It is a solid older iPhone, but it is already near the end of its support window compared with newer models. Battery life is reported as decent, while newer iPhones like the 16e are described as having better battery life and longer iOS support.
goyangyi1 Luigis3rdcousin rastatech haruman
Yes, it can be used on Wi‑Fi without activating a SIM or data plan. That makes it usable as a Wi‑Fi-only device while you wait to unlock it or decide on service.

yeah, don't feel bad, cause I haven't activated before Jan 20th, and now I am screwed :-D

what is the cheapest 365 days plan? Is it still 5 of those $20/90-days plans? Pay $100 and wait 365 days to unlock. now that feels bads.

Yeah, it sucks. I think $19.99 for 3 months w/ TracFone is the cheapest option so far.

Pull different carrier sim card in even if inactive. Then it will update unlock.
