Buy the Tracfone $19.99 90-Day prepaid service plan from Best Buy or Target.
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/t...JXJCJWPGL8
https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...A-52580738

Call Tracfone to rebrand/re-sku the iPhone to Tracfone and activate on the above plan.

If anyone didn't know this. After you activate your phone, you can add this plan and it count as a month. It also worked on plans that said you needed 2 months of silver, etc.

This Straight Talk iPhone 13 deal stands out as a low-cost way to get an older but still capable iPhone with a SIM card slot, strong cameras, MagSafe, and solid battery life. The A15 chip keeps it close to the iPhone 14 and not far behind the iPhone 15 for everyday use, and the size and 0.5x lens make it appealing for travel or filming. The main drawback is age, since iOS support is shorter and newer updates can slow it down or drain battery. Unlocking also takes patience, with reports of 60 day service requirements and occasional rebranding or activation hassles.

  • The iPhone 13 can unlock after about 60 days of Straight Talk or TracFone service, sometimes without submitting a request.

    powapplecool-blueKapidexcrushdtinbox

  • The iPhone 13 can be rebranded to TracFone in some cases, which may enable cheaper prepaid unlock workflows.

    Huffcwpowapplepowapple

  • The phone can be used on Wi-Fi without activating a SIM or data plan.

    shmueyrly723

  • The iPhone 13 can offer MagSafe support, camera capability, and Dynamic Island features compared with the 16e option.

    Spaceman6969

  • The iPhone 13 can be a practical choice for travelers who want to use a local SIM abroad after unlocking.

    SkillfulTexture8073

  • Rebranding to TracFone can fail when support refuses the request or says rebranding is not possible for the IMEI.

    Huffcwcivicsi98civicsi98

  • The iPhone 13 deal can be risky for unlocking because some iPhones remain locked even after day 60-63 eligibility.

    GreenBuffalo583oregon14

  • Some iOS updates can cause laggy performance and missing keyboard behavior on iPhone 13 models.

    EdD3229Wand

  • Unlock status can be inconsistent, with IMEI checkers showing unlocked while iPhone settings still report SIM locked.

can you please explain the "rebranding"; how do you do it? TIA
First CS rep via TracFone chat said it wasn't possible. Chatted with another rep - this time selected to "technical support" thhen "help with activation" at the start of the chat and they rebranded without issue.

Literally almost every carrier does esim now. In-laws doing esims in Africa. If you want a sim slot get a $50 android from one of the deals flying around.
I travel to China a lot, and local eSIM is hard to get in the country. I did try using Android phone, but Google services are blocked there so it may have more trouble than just roaming. I will just wait for this to be unlocked and get a Chinese SIM card when I go there.

Were you able to activate using the $20/90 day plan?

You can use it with the wifi on. You just wouldn't activate a SIM/data plan.

There is no Google service in the mobile phones sold in China, but the phones with Google services work well in China.

Not Chinese are cared of people using Google services. it's Google not offered services in China .

you should learn a lot before your comments
I am from China and what you said is not entire true. It is complicated story that Google left China. However, nowadays you cannot connect to any google service in China, which is not blocked by Google.

Do you have to activate it on a regular Straight Talk plan and then switch to this one for the 2nd month?

Or can you just get this plan to activate it for one month then wait 60 days for the unlock?
