This.

Dont buy this thing without TouchID.. IMO it's the primary reason to even get the Apple Magic wireless keyboards. I use both the Logitech MX Keys and the Apple Magic Keyboard w/TouchID.. and the Logitech works better all around. The Logitech keyboard is backlit which helps when typing in low-light.. it sits higher up so it's more comfortable to use from ergonomic standpoint.. it includes a backspace key, in addition to a delete key which is super useful (Apple only includes the delete key on its keyboard).. and it can pair with up to 2 more devices using either Bluetooth or the Logitech USB receiver.

All that said, the ONLY way to get TouchID to work with a Mac mini.. is using the Apple Magic Keyboard. So that feature alone, makes it worth the price. Nobody wants to keep typing passwords in all day long.

Even if this had TouchID, I still wouldn't buy it. I bought a full sized one from Woot months ago and they sent it in a bag with no protection whatsoever. So of course it was super dented and scratched up when it arrived. Their return process is a bit of a hassle too, not worth the risk.

I am fine with no touch id, but a lightning cable in 2025 should be considered as consumer violence

It's old stock. And zero reason to get this kb other than having TouchID (which is fantastic for many things on a non-laptop Mac). Really it's a compromise getting this KB for the TID, and this ancient Lightning turd doesn't have it.
