I bought at 129 for this kit, paid for itself immediately. Very nifty to have a bandsaw like this.

In 2 more days you can cut up the butter.. Don't see why you would add this to your tool stack to cut 1"+ pipe.

When would you use this instead of a sawzall with a short blade? I guess it's more controlled, but it's another tool and kind of awkward... Genuinely interested if there's good uses as opposed to sawzal.

Way smoother and cleaner cut through metal like electrical conduit, unistrut, allthread rod, etc. If you aren't cutting those things often this probably won't get used much.

For automotive, gotta stick with the angle-grinder, sawzall, and cut-off wheel. No need for this :-).
I just got done chopping off some rusty endlinks with the sawzall. lol
This thing is probably good for plumbing too if you just want to zip off a copper pipe.

Share the deal! $90~ is my threshold for buying tools. Might make an exception for this one because it seems to not dip very low often

You think like a plumber, using a sawzall to cut anything and everything. Smilie

Blade does not reciprocate, makes cuts a lot easier, specially on softer and thinner metal and even more so when you are holding the product you are cutting. A sawzall can get to things this can't and carrying around another power tool and having it within reach all day is not ideal when a sawzall can be good enough for the task at hand.
