Older processor, 1200p screen, soldered and 16GB RAM. ThinkPad p14s have been around this price or a $100 more for far better specs. I know this is carbon, extremely thin, light and durable but this is a complete rip off.

Comparing a p14s and x1 carbon is ridiculous. Everyone knows you pay a premium for the X1C due to it being 20% less in weight and a bit better material build. Ultrabooks should only be compared to ultrabooks. Wouldn't expect someone with such laptop experience to be comparing apples to oranges like this. Those who are in the market for an X1C are probably in it first due to the size and weight, which always come as a premium.
