I've had an older Black and Decker "Matrix" Multitool with changeable heads and it's been alright, but swapping heads is a bit finicky and the tools aren't the best quality. I am ready to start upgrading my tools and this is a fantastic time to start with the sales going on.I was going to go with Ryobi, but there are some tools from other ecosystems that I want to use with an adapter and the damn dingle arm on the Ryobi batteries makes adapting them incredible cumbersome. For instance, I got an adapter for my Dyson v8 since the battery is finally dying after 5 years and the adapter for the Ryobi is comically large. I've already committed to Ridgid since it's price point is low to begin with, the quality seems decent for the "prosumer" level, and it has a lifetime service agreement (as long as you register it). I was between Ryobi, Ridgid and Hercules from Harbor Freight and I'm glad to be going with Ridgid.
Check in on me in a year once the honeymoon phase wears off and I'll give you a proper update haha.
