To be clear, this is a Squier and NOT a Fender.

It looks weird imo, but it has great features. Offset body is comfortable and well balanced. Can't go wrong with a tele pickup in the bridge, and the jazzmaster neck pickup is one of the sweetest neck tones out there. Block inlays are also very nice. The series/parallel and phase controls are also welcome additions. This is a players guitar for sure.

I couldnt resist! Placed order with that coupon lol. Wife is going to kill me again. I should be dead approx 20x over at this point.

FGW is a very reasonable dealer to work with btw - I've ordered a few guitars from them new (all previously through Reverb)

He/she STILL has the vendor as Fender, as if Fender.com is the seller. Fender had trouble selling this awful color and got rid of these through one of the companies that it sells customer returns to. It's not a refurb because there was nothing to refurb. It's stamped "used" on the back of the headstock and the serial number is partially removed so that Fender does not have to support it with warranty. If you know what you are getting, you can get a good deal through Franklin. The extra 10% off code above makes this (ugly color) a real bargain.

This is NOT accurate. I ordered the guitar and it came in WITH the serial number intact. There is NO "Used" mark stamped on the back of the headstock. Additionally, the FGW website itself describes the guitar as "Refurb" in order to indicate the lack of Fender/Squier warranty.
Also, the color (which I wasn't crazy about from the online photos) is actually a bit darker in person, with some gray mixed in.

Does yours cut out when you switch to the bridge pickup with the vol pot pulled in series?

Fender responded to this guy's review where he discussed this:
https://youtu.be/-rqaQ2rrZYM?si=H...rLL-&t=515
"This is a result of how this model is wired and is normal. You'll notice the signal muted in position 1 with the volume pot pulled up. Because the function is putting two pickups in either series/parallel or the two pickups in-phase/out-of-phase, these controls only function when in position 2 where both pickups are active. We do not recommend pulling the volume knob up in any other position, as you have noticed it will cut the volume."
From a different perspective, this can be seen as a bonus feature as it can act as a kill switch a la Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello, Jonny Greenwood, etc. as shown in this review:

Is it still a good deal without the $50 discount? I had it in my cart yesterday and just walked too long...

The next-best price I'm seeing online right now (post-Black Friday) is $355.

After receiving it, the only thing I needed to do was to adjust the saddle heights and do a minor intonation, the neck needed no adjustment. Fret edges overall are smooth, and very happy with the tones from both pickups.
.
At $270 with the code, IMO it is still a good deal.
