Not sure where you are getting that info about the solar input. Here is what their specs say:
Solar Input
2 × 1,200W, 12-60VDC, 2 × 20A

I have heard that it is hard to get the 1200W because you have to have panels that together output right around 60V because of the 20A current limit, so YMMV I guess.

This is extremely close to pre launch price of $2000. But now you have to pay tax. No tax on the pre launch.

It's the 60VDC that's the problem. There's very little you can do to get 1200w of real-world panels to fit in that voltage envelope - like nearly impossible. You have to account for temperature swings, so it's really like 48v as max input voltage (Open-Circuit Voltage, OCV). It's a real bummer, and why I didn't upgrade my AC300 to Apex 300 even though it would have otherwise been a really nice upgrade to have. I went with an AC500 for about the same $.

It's actually not a bad deal. You get a nice AIO 240v inverter and 5+ kWh battery. If you plug it in before Dec 31, you qualify for the 30% Federal Tax Credit for battery storage that's expiring at the end of the year.
A decent SRNE AIO Inverter is about $800, but they're usually 120v so you'd need 2 (but you'd have 3-5 kWh * 2 so it's not apples comparison), and a 5 kWh battery is about $800, and then you need cutoffs, breakers, wires, etc.
Basically if you want battery backup of your major appliances, or do some time-of-use gaming, this isn't a bad way to go. Get 10-20 kWh of 3rd party batteries if you're serious about the TOU gaming though.

There's not enough battery storage here to run most 240v appliances for any length of time and there's not enough battery here to Level II charge your EV more than a few KWH. To actually add enough battery capacity on this Bluetti to be significant for 240V appliances the price gets ridiculous fast. Most people really only need 120V for their home backup power. If you do not specifically need a 240V output and will pretty much only use the 120V output then this is not a great deal, especially once you consider the very limited 60V solar input ports that others have mentioned. If all you need is a 120V output then something like the Pecron E3600LFP is a much better deal. Right now you can get a Pecron E3600LFP + Expansion battery + trolley for hundreds less than this Bluetti deal. Although you will not get 240v capability out of the box (you'd have to add a 2nd E3600 for 240V), what you will get aside from the lower price is a more usable 150VDC/1200W solar input port that'll allow you to put residential panels in series on the input if you wanted to. You'll also get 10% more battery storage than this Bluetti deal.
If you actually need 240V then right now you can pick up two Pecron E3600's along with their 240V break-out box and portable trolley for a few hundred more than this deal. For that extra $$$ you get the additional 10% battery storage, two 150VDC/1200W solar input ports and a trolley.
