I have an almost identical one MegChef. Super cool cooking tool. Super easy to use and multiple function. I used that to make Chicken, soup, rice, beef stew and lots of other food. For those who are obsessed with fancy rice cookers, a pressure cooker is much better than lots of high end rice cookers

The link up top takes me to the product page on Amazon for either 6qt or 3qt (which is more expensive than the 6qt). Maybe it was pointed to the wrong place earlier?

This is the model to buy. Sous vide works very well, just a little slower without the circulator.

The same here. It is a fantastic tool, using daily. It served me for 6 years and the only thing - I had to replace the silicone ring on it

IP only recommends for certain models. Just so everyone knows.

This might be a little off topic, but what are you all actually using this for? I'm tempted to grab one. The only thing I ever really used a pressure cooker for in the past was chicken soup. It took about an hour instead of an all-day simmer and honestly came out just as good, maybe better. I also tried oxtail a few times and that came out great too, but this was years ago before these became a common kitchen thing.

For anyone who uses this model, what do you make with it and why do you love it? I feel like I need a push to justify getting one. Also, is "Instant Pot" just the brand name or does it actually have special features compared to a regular pressure cooker?

And one last question I've always wondered: can you fill it with oil and use it as a pressure fryer for chicken or wings?

Instant Pot is the brand. There are other electric pressure cookers, e.g. Ninja, Consori. IP also sells non-pressure cookers, e.g., rice cookers, slow cookers, ovens, but their pressure cookers are their primary product line.
No, on deep frying.

There's an air fryer lid option if that's what you are looking for - https://a.co/d/0EoOUx6

We use it almost daily for rice, lentils, eggs, curry and even make homemade yogurt sometimes. It does take some time to get comfortable with use, but once you do it's such a time saver.

If you get a trivet, you can stack and make one pot meal with rice and curry cooked together but separately.

Are there model names for these? I think this is the same one at target we purchased at same price a couple days ago but just wanted to double check...

Edit: didn't see this was already asked on page 2. I have the same question as fabulousbike
