if you mean a full size ipad its because its portable and powerful.

Great deal, I have 100s of hours on mine playing CODM and watching shows. This is geared towards gaming. They do have a Gen 4, BUT I've only seen them with the China ROM. Not sure when or if they will make their way to the US. Redmagic has the Astra with an OLED screen, but it is a bit pricey and only has one charge port (not very well placed). When playing CODM, the Lenovo tablet does get hot (in matches only), but not to the point of wanting to stop playing. Works with the Gamesir G8+, and has two charging points, one that is very well placed for passive charging while gaming. This is kind of a niche product.

AND it works with emulators

Lenovo added it back in the gen 4 2025 edition that came out at the beginning of the summer. There's places you can buy it with a global ROM, but unfortunately it's still not even mentioned on Lenovo's website, At least not from the US. I've been avidly watching Lenovo's website for an officially released gen 4 since it came out. I was hoping Black Friday would have been the time, but apparently not.

I bought this with CN Roms on Aliepress. Perfect lil retro gaming tablet when pair with Gamesir G8+. 256GB is enough for retro gaming. 3DS and NDS games never looked better than this.

yup... i bought the 2023 Y700 from AliExpress over the 2025 version and before the Gen 3 release here in the states for just that reason. what a stupid choice when you're going specifically for the small form factory gaming tablet.

that said... the 2023 Y700 is pure awesome paired with a Abxylute S9 (or Gamesir if that feels better to you), fantastic retro emulator tablet, also quite nice for remote XBox (haven't tried remote PC, but I hear it works well.)

Why buy this over a Legion Go S? Maybe as an all in one gaming system + tablet? Because the Legion Go S is better at emulation, game compatibility, streaming, etc...This doesn't even have a microSD slot and it looks like controllers are separate. Previously I could have pointed to the price, but even that has come down.

I just bought this tablet last week on sale. The tablet was working fine and then Lenovo released a software update that completely broke the ability to take and annotate on top of screenshots. It was probably my most used feature of the device and now it's all but useless for me so it's going back.
