The TALL 64 oz 5200 classic container is $99

This 48 oz wet tinted container is dishwasher safe and works with all. Ascent, Venturist, Propel, Explorian, C and G series, 5200, 7500 ect. The 3" blades and narrow bottom allow smaller batches of frozen fruit sorbet with tamping and no liquid. Puree, liquefy, smoothies and green juice with no bits.

All Vitamix containers have a 3 year warranty when purchased at Vitamix.com. If included with a motorbase then they usually extend that to the full blender warranty.

Grabbed the venturist pro from woot yesterday. Is this 48oz container better for single serve smoothies than the included 64 oz?

If so is it shelling out another $75?

edit: looks like shipping is another $12

Depends on how big your single servings are. The 48oz does work better for small quantities, but if you typically go at least ~20-24 ounces, then you won't really need it. Getting down below 16 ounces will leave blenders with the 64 ounce pitcher struggling a little (depending on the specific ingredients and mix).

Here's what I would do and why:
$75 is an all time low price. I've only seen Vitamix drop the price on the 48 oz. to $100 once a year for Black Friday, Regular price is $170-$150. No risk, take advantage of the free 30 day trial free returns offer.

99% of commercial use is the 48 oz 3" blade container. The advantage of a funnel-shaped container with a 3"blade and a narrow bottom is discussed endlessly on these pages and elsewhere.

The 64 oz 4" blade allows you to chop and perform certain processing tasks that 3" blade containers do not do well. Yes you can make smoothies in the 64 but you will not be using it for one or two servings if you have the 48 on hand.

It's easy to sell a new or a like-new 64 oz self-detect container for $75 if you find that you don't need it.

Vitamix takes care of its customers who buy direct. Buy the extended warranty and the CSR will likely comp you free shipping on the container if you ask. I always buy the extended warranty because it adds considerable resale value. Warranty is automatically connected to the serial number not the person and is honored for all future owners. Call in with the serial number and they pick the unit up, restore it to like-new performance and return it to you within 10 days all at no charge with no proof of purchase required. Vitamix has replaced eight year old containers for free during service. That's my experience having purchased 5 blenders from them. YMMV.

Have they ever had a sale on the stainless steel containers?
