Have a co-worker that complained about possible carpal tunnel. Got them a ergonomic keyboard, trackball and a vertical mouse for them to try. They gave up and went back to the old keyboard/mouse within 2 days.

Until I found they only lasted about 1.5 years of medium use - the button switch on the left click seems to just die after a shockingly small amount of use.
You can clean it, but it doesn't last that much longer.
I ended up getting a copycat product, and that's lasted for years.
Which confuses me still - their desktop mice seem a lot more reliable across time, but for at least a decade where I've tried them, their trackball click switches have been profoundly unreliable. Had to keep fixing and replacing them, practically every year.
The issue with the original switch is supposedly corrosion from sweat; I'm not sure if it's fixed with the new version.
Several months ago, I picked up an MX Ergo S on sale with these same new switches, and it's amazingly quiet. I will see how long it lasts.
