Lol, the RAM alone is supposedly worth $130. CL38... 2x8 mildly annoying if you plan to go to 32 later but you do get dual channel now...

DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000)
Timing 38-38-38-78
CAS Latency CL38

Throw in a Micro Center 9600x for $180 and you're at $350 for an "AMD bundle" that was $250 or $270 a few months ago (well, maybe not if this mobo is slightly better than the B650 in the past bundles from April-ish... but those would be one stick of 16GB CL36, which is now supposedly $110 alone).

RAM prices are annoying!

The other choice is to close the tabs you'll never read and not buy more RAM

Unfortunately, this is actually an excellent deal if you can live with 16GB of memory until the memory pricing bubble bursts.

Guys,
Per Hardware Unboxed youtube channel,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFqd7lnXlIk at 30:31 of the video,

The B850 motherboards like
Asus Prime B850M-K,
MSI Pro B850M-P Wifi (with default power limit removed),
Asus Prime B850-Plus Wifi,
Asus B850 Max Gaming Wifi W,
and others may have a VRM overheating issue when using Ryzen 9 9950x.

Anything over 90 degree C is not good. And the 4 boards that I listed above can hit over 116~128 degree C.

But if you only use a 6 cores 12 threads CPU and not do any overclocking, you are still ok with these 4 boards.

I dont know if TUF GAMING B850M-E WIFI with 9950x would hit above 90 degree C or not.

This board appears to have heat sinks all around the VRM.

I was just looking to see how much I paid for G.Skill DDR5 6000 2x32GB CL30 ram less then 1 year ago... $190. It's $570 today. It seems like when prices go up fast, they drop even faster. I'm tempted to get this for a build but I have a feeling ram prices will drop come the beginning of next year.

because tuf is a better board than max gaming wifi. When you buy asus boards make sure you buy tuf or strix, asus low end boards are terrible. And even this tuf b850m-e is a cut down version of B850m-plus, it is still better than the max gaming.

I bought B850M-E. Compared to the other BM850, the difference seems to be that BM850 has better audio and more ports.

for all B850 matx boards, the best for the money are pretty much tuf gaming from asus, aorus elite from gigabyte, and mortar from msi. usually the msi mortar is always a bit better than the other 2 and cost a bit more as well. these boards are quite similar, and the major differences are wifi, onboard audio, and how many usb ports. I would pick whatever is cheap, but I think usually mortar has stronger vrm and aorus elite usually has more usb ports.

What makes you think it will happen so fast? I just bought a CL36 2x16 for $150 from local Wally world in prep for upgrading in January because everything I've seen says we're going to be dealing with this for a little while

Lack of optical audio out is a deal breaker for me.
