A few years back I wanted wireless earbuds but they were all the laggy Bluetooth type and then JBL came out with 2.4ghz w/ USB-C dongle and they were pretty awesome.
Explanation: Even the best possible Bluetooth speed is 10ms when you want <5ms, 1-2ms ideally. So even if someone made the most insanely good BT keyboard or mouse they would never more than 'kinda ok' for FPSes. That said, these are stats from like competitive CS:GO /Apex. If you are just doing single player you can probably handle stuff like Half-Life 2 - Hard difficulty with Bluetooth. For more twitch FPSes like Quake III you need 1-2ms to really do anything besides casual difficulty.
Why cite older games? Because they were more reliant on control difficulty rather than strategic. FPSes before 2005 were more about getting your crosshair into just the right positon and then swiping away and bunny hopping back.
FPSes since then have been more controller-friencly and therefore Bluetooth Friendly, blame Gears of War and Halo 2.
If you absolutely, postively, MUST use a wireless keyboard/mouse, get one that uses 2.4Ghz directly (e.g SteelSeries Quantum 2.0). The dongle lets you not use the BT protocol so you can get relatively close to the necessary speed, though nothing will ever beat pure metal.
Far as I understand Bluetooth it will ALWAYS be too laggy for proper gaming, but YMMV
