Do you think the model without the "S" and with an IPS screen is significantly inferior to this one with OLED? And you're not worried about burn-in?

Yeah, you're right on the money. I was watching this because it was an attractive deal regardless. The non-s version has full power, but no OLED. This is $50 cheaper than it was, but still not cheap enough to do the paypal pay-in-4 without using a gift card (if you have tax).

I'm hoping a Lenovo Legion with comparable specs goes on sale for BF as I've heard the build quality is better.

Does anyone know if this model has soldered in RAM and if there is any expansion capability/slots for SSD or HDD?

I know which model you are talking about and let me summarize that or you. If you're looking for pure performance, the Vector HX with 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti will be better performing due its higher power ceiling, thicker design and bigger cooling fans.
On the downside, that laptop is considerable amount heavier, not so nice looking and built using mostly plastic, has a normal IPS panel. This Acer one is a very Thin and light laptop, fully metal construct, a far superior OLED display, and offer a balance between performance and portability. Also, the performance difference not that huge at all, it is very close.

Just buy like $100 best buy digital gift card and you are set to cover taxes and bring tbe cost below the $1500 paypal limit.

That's why I think you're better off getting the 140 W at Costco with the IPS screen for $50 more. Sure, you are losing out on the OLED screen, but you're getting a big performance bump.

Not just any OLED screen, a 240hz 1ms VESA certified and DisplayHDR certified OLED screen. This screen usually commands $500 premium EXTRA and you'll have to reach much further north in price to get the screen in a full 140W powered laptop.

Yep, that's why you have to pick for you which is more important at that price.

It does not have soldered Ram, both SODIMM slots are user accessible. Also, 2x M.2 Slots are there, meaning you can more storage without replacing the existing one.
