The X-E5 is a compact Fujifilm body that stands out for its rangefinder style, interchangeable lens mount, and built in image stabilization. At $1,399, it is framed as much easier to justify than its launch price, especially for anyone already shopping for an X series body or wanting an X100 style feel with more lens flexibility. Greentoe is described as an authorized seller with US warranty registration and tax included in the price. The main caveat is that this is body only, so lens costs still matter, and the price is still high enough that smaller alternatives like the X M5 or X T30 III may fit better if size matters most.

  • Greentoe pricing reportedly includes tax, so the bid price can match the final amount paid.

  • Greentoe is sold through an authorized seller rather than a gray-market source.

  • The body-only purchase avoids the kit lens, which makes the $1399 price more relevant.

  • The X-E5 can be a strong choice for IBIS-focused short video clips when using primes.

  • The X-E5 may be less compelling if small size is the top priority compared with smaller X-series bodies.

  • The deal math may be overstated because the body-only retail is cited around $1,699 rather than $500 off.

  • The seller identity is reportedly not revealed until after purchase, which can limit pre-purchase confidence.

  • The X-E5 deal does not include the 23mm f/2.8 lens, so additional lens costs may be required.

I was trying to figure that out too! Bummer. I still ended up purchasing. Any good deals on a lens for it?
This is a really good lens for the price if you want a small package. It's even got an aperture ring for $127:

But I'm also a huge fan of the Fuji XF 35mm f2. The kit lens that comes with the X-T series (XF 18-55mm) is actually a really good lens also if you don't know what focal lengths you shoot most and want a zoom. You can get both of them used in good condition for around $250-300 each. If you do end up looking at the Fuji used market, I would only look at the XF lenses and skip the XC lenses. Fuji's are great because the Fuji lenses offered are very well priced for their optical clarity as compared to most other brands.

I'm torn and need some advice, I'm a beginning to mirrorless cameras and we pre ordered the X-T30iii. It hasn't shipped yet so I can still cancel it. The key we wanted was a smaller size, so we avoided moving to the X-S20 but the X-E5 looks to be similarly sized to the X-T30iii. Thoughts?

if you can still get this xe5 at $1399 (which btw includes tax, so it's something like ~$1265 + tax), then it's worth cancelling the X-T30iii for this. This is better than X-T30iii for sure. But if your main reason for the cam is a small size cam, xt30 is probably just as good. Different look, both beautiful, both probably does what you need.

One thing I want to mention is XM5. XM5 is smaller and still amazing, as long as you dont need IBIS. XT30iii doesnt have IBIS either so between XM5 and XT30iii, i'd go for the xm5. much cheaper and still does everything you need. If the small size if your biggest priorty, its amazing.
Personally for me, XM5 would've been a perfect camera for me, but I personally need IBIS because I like to capture short video clips + photo, and I only use primes so IBIS gets rid of all the micro shakes. Thats why I got the XE5.

It's no longer in stock so ordering the X-E5 isn't an option.
