TLDR, at this price, it's hard to beat if you were already in the market for x series body.
I am a deep camera nerd. the X-E5's biggest problem was the price. X-T5 is a better camera and was just a little more expensive than the X-E5. But at this price, it's much more justifiable, esp if you like the range finder style, and the x100 series vibe, but with interchangeable lens mount. X-M5 is also a great option but it doesn't have the IBIS. Think of X-E5 as a premium & IBIS version of X-M5, or an interchangeable lens version of x100. I was originally gonna wait for the next x pro series seeing the MSRP of the X-E5, but at this price, it already does everything I wanted a compact camera to do. The $300 off on a S tier camera that only came out 3 months ago is an amazing deal. Probably happened because the MSRP scared all buyers away initially. If $1399 was the launching MSRP, it would probably be on backorder, kind of like the x100 6 launch.

The X-E5 is a compact Fujifilm body that stands out for its rangefinder style, interchangeable lens mount, and built in image stabilization. At $1,399, it is framed as much easier to justify than its launch price, especially for anyone already shopping for an X series body or wanting an X100 style feel with more lens flexibility. Greentoe is described as an authorized seller with US warranty registration and tax included in the price. The main caveat is that this is body only, so lens costs still matter, and the price is still high enough that smaller alternatives like the X M5 or X T30 III may fit better if size matters most.
